Founded in 1997, Bridge Semiconductor is a company that specializes in developing high-performance, mixed-signal, semiconductor devices. During 2002, the Company patented a breakthrough integrated circuit technology that enables infrared imagers to be produced at 1/10th the cost of existing devices. Bridge Semiconductor’s revolutionary imagers will be sold to manufacturers of infrared cameras for the Firefighting, Security and Surveillance, and Driver Vision Enhancement markets.

Bridge Semiconductor was introduced to Gateways in late 2002 when they were completing testing of their alpha-prototype design and moving into their beta-test phase. The Company’s need was an intermediate round of preferred stock, bridge financing to fund operations through the beta-testing cycle.

Imagers will be sold to markets including the Security and Surveillance market.

Being impressed with the technology, their excellent management team and their market potential, Gateways introduced Bridge Semiconductors to a network of industry advisors to obtain an independent technical review and to assist with the due diligence process.

Bridge Semiconductor’s integrated circuit technology enables infrared imagers, such as those used by firefighters, to be produced at 1/10th the cost.

Several members of the Gateways' advisory team agreed to participate in the preferred stock offering which Gateways matched from its Program Related Investment Fund. This co-investment helped Bridge Semiconductor reach its intermediate financing goal, which enabled them to attract additional, follow-on funding of $1.5 million during the summer of 2003 as the Company prepares to bring its first product to market in early 2004.
