Update on Mitotyping Technologies - A Pittsburgh Gateways Start-Up Company

Mitotyping Technologies, LLC http://www.mitotyping.com/ was founded in 1998 by Dr.Terri Melton, a Senior Research Assistant at Penn State University through the assistance and investment of Pittsburgh Gateways. Dr. Melton has gained a national reputation as a leading expert in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) analysis, interpretation and expert testimony. Terry has provided evidence for many
high profile criminal justice cases (see below).

Mitotyping Technologies has expanded operations and has recently moved out of the business incubator and into their own space in State College. This new site has 3,300 sq. feet, a private entrance for delivery of evidence by numerous law enforcement agencies, and increased security measures. Business continues to grow annually at double-digit rates, both in income and number of clients served.
